Kingsway and Ridge battled from the gun in the boys 4x800 relay on Sunday at the New Jesey NJSIAA Indoor Meet of Champions at Ocean Breeze and the quartets ran two of the top three times in the nation this indoor season.

Kingsway, with Stone Caraccio on anchor, pulled away from Ridge over the final 400 meters and led the team to a victory and US#1 time of 7:47.50. Ridge improved its season best and finished with US#3 7:49.51.

Victoria Vanriele from Governor Livingston won her fourth consecutive indoor MOC title in the 800 meters, leading wire to wire and crossing the finish line in 2:09.73. In the spring she will try to make it four for four outdoors as well.

There was a mishap during the boys 1,600 meters, with the bell rung a lap too early and a timing display that was off by 30 seconds adding to the confusion. Liam Murphy of Allentown stopped for a moment and then responded to the shouts to keep going and finished the eight-lapper in 4:17.35 while others in the seeded section stopped at 1,400.

Murphy had no such problems in the 3,200. He and Jack Jennings (Mendham) had a fast pace going early, along with Austin Gabay of Cinnaminson.

Gabay had the slight lead on Murphy going into the final lap. Jennings closed a gap to catch both of them with a fast backstretch. It was Jennings and Murphy side by side over the thrilling final 50 meters. Murphy held on fo the slight victory in US#5 8:58.16 to US#6 8:58.19 for Jennings.

Elizabeth Maker (Pinelands Regional) unloaded a mark of 43-3.50 in the first round of the shot put to lock up the title and then extended her lead in the fourth round with a mark of 44-2.50.

Bradley Jelmert (Watchung Hills) jumped 16-0.25  to set a new meet record in the pole vault.

Jamier Wright-Collins (JFK) cleared a lifetime best 6-10 on his last attempt and then took two good shots at seven feet on the way to winning the high jump title
