Ryan Moran (VP Rocks and Roots Trail Runners Association) was a football player and wrestler growing up. He wrestled for three years in college at Ohio Northern, until getting injured. Ryan says the injury gave him an excuse to live an unhealthy lifestyle. After a few years, he had gained a lot of weight and began having health issues. For the first time in his life he was told by the doctor that his weight was a concern, which opened his eyes and pushed him to try running. He began to see the pounds coming off and started to challenge himself more and more as a runner. Ryan’s interest in running grew as he discovered trail running, and has since helped to develop the Rocks and Roots Trail at Alum Creek in Columbus.
