Mikaela Kendall, a sophomore at Heritage Christian Academy, placed second in the Class 2A girls final by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 19:22.6 at the Colorado High School Activities Association Cross Country Championships at Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs. Kendall helped Heritage Christian Academy, which had finished second three times including last season, secure the first girls team title in program history by a 37-47 margin against Lake County.
